There Should Be A Riot Going On |
Americans have always been willing to sacrifice everything, including their lives, for what they believe in. Whether fighting for independence, dying for unity, or ignoring tear gas for equality, Americans have always rose to the challenge. Except now.
There has been plenty of uproar and protest in response of the Bush administration. Him and his buddies have done everything from murdering innocent Iraqis to violating the privacy of innocent American citizens. There have been countless protests, but frankly they haven't done shit. If Americans really wanted to send a point to the government we would be rioting in the streets and not backing down to the man like they did in the sixties. The problem is we're all fake. We've been brainwashed and controlled by the government to the point where we think it's impenetrable. Beloved presidents have been assassinated by one nutjob for no reason, but when our country's president is a tyrant hated by millions he is left untouched. We're scared to revolt.
Personally though, I could care less. But if I did care, I'd do more than join a meaningless protest.

If you were to care schorschologist, what sort of stand would you take? How could a message be sent in an efficient and effective way?

I'd tear some shit up. Catapult a brick through the white house or something. And personally I feel like a violent protest is more effective than a non violent protest. A non violent protest gets no coverage and no one seems to care. On the other hand if a protest turns violent, the media cover it and a divide is created between the people and their government. Anytime that happens there is a potential for change.
But it's a good thing I don't care, cause then life would be pretty frustrating.
What about you Har Rai? What do you think is the answer for our stagnated and generally bitch-made nation?

I personally think that we are all very afraid to lose everything. I have still not figured out what everything is, and why I'm so afraid of losing it though. A message would certainly be sent through violence, but how much change would come from that message? How much negative media attention has our Iraqi war garnered? Have you seen mass change because of this?
I think that the only way to change the current circumstances is to be patient. We have to wait for the right moment when we know it is our own time to make change.
We will get our chance, but we have to be sure to take it. What do you think Schorschologist?
